D xx Origins On
29th June 1967 at Bond Street Maternity Hospital in Leicester, now
demolished and re placed by The Shires Shopping Centre, a baby boy entered the
world and was named ‘David Paul Noseley’. There
was much discussion at that time as to who he looked like, I have seen the
photos and would say a beautiful bouncing baby! And was taken home to a little
village called Oadby in Leicestershire. Where he lived with his Dad (Graham)
Mother (Jean) and big sister Sharon. He
was an ill child and managed to contract every illness going as a child,
including asthma at the age of 4! He
was one of very few when he started school with asthma as it was a very new
condition in them days and suffered a great deal of bullying, from both teachers
and pupils not understanding his condition, having regular asthma attacks and
not being able to take part in sport’s as much as he had wished he was always
the last to be picked! He
progressed through the schools in Oadby, Launde Infants and Primary, Manor High
and then Beauchamp College. His
mother was a regular church go’er and David would be dragged along too, every
Sunday and then sent to Boys Brigade on a Monday night. He
started work at an early age and had a paper round at the age of 10, a very big
one! By the age of 13 he was working after school in a local butchers shop
called ‘Tom Bests’ now a Thai Restaurant on London Rd Oadby. David
wanted to be a fireman at school, but due to his asthma couldn’t join so he
got an apprenticeship with a local meat firm called Parkers and trained to
become a butcher. This
was at the age of 15 and left school before taking his exams much to the
annoyance of his headmistress, but the job opportunity would not wait And
so at that early age David did a 40hr week starting at 6.30am every day! Kids of
today don’t know what work is! He
stayed at Parkers for 5 years and then moved to Sainsburys and with in 3 months
been promoted to Meat Manager at the Humberstone Gate branch Leicester. David
enjoyed 8 years at Sainsburys but was made redundant in a management
restructure, which took him into security and he stated running the doors at
Mosquito Coast nightclub and Bar Gaudy (now Mosh) in Leicester. Then
after 2 years and missing retail David got a Newsagents which he ran for a
couple of years, but it blow away, so then ran a hotel for a short time before
finding his niche in life ‘Finance’ that was nearly 10 years ago. David
suffered a bad car accident 7 years ago and is now disabled on his left leg
still suffering from the effects of the accident today he copes and gets on with
life. Are
you still reading about him!!?? David
now works for a Mortgage Lender as Account Manager covering the East Midlands. David
loves LCFC and has been a dedicated season ticket holder for years! Also has a
strong passion for Queen & country and has followed the England football
team to many places far and wide. Plus loves an afternoon at the Tigers on the
beer! Always open to offers! David
was asked to become a Freemason a few years ago and joined a lodge in Leicester.
This has totally changed his outlook on life and made him a better person in the
whole. Comedy came into his life by accident; whilst at a gig a few years ago he heckled a comedian who retaliated by asking if he could do any better? Get up on stage now and do so? So David being David, got up and did 10 minuets of the cuff, to the delight of the crowd, he then saw an advert for a Comedy Workshop that wanted people totally new, so he joined and here we are today! David has decided it his turn now to study and is currently a part time student at Leicester University, studying Management.
